So, Vivaldi, the great musical pragmatist; it’s the key to Vivaldi’s world Yo-Yo was looking for and which, he believes, has given him and collaborator Ton Koopman permission to make their own cello transcriptions of the composer’s music.

Bach to Vivaldi, the masterpieces of the 1600-1750 Baroque period. Composer: Brahms. Orchestral, chamber, solo, and vocal music of Johannes Brahms.
- It's Vivaldi, it's Yo-Yo Ma, but there's plenty of Vivaldi and Ma elsewhere. This CD promised some eclectic arrangements and voicings that one doesn't typically hear. After listening to the entire CD I must conclude it's mostly pretty typical. Had I been able to listen to the other tracks in a sample format I doubt I'd have purchased the CD.

Vivaldi's Cellogives listeners a chance to hear a different kind of Vivaldi. Some of the music on this vinyl set was written by the composer to feature the cello of his day, but that's only half the story. Vivaldi's Cello couples those scores with music that Vivaldi originally intended for the violin, the viola d'amore or the human voice. Music that's now been transcribed for the cello- 180 gram audiophile vinyl
